Holidays have come and gone and now the new year 2016 is finally upon us, but what does that mean for music? Bands such as Whitechapel, Carnifex, Vanna, Fit For a King and more have announced that they will be releasing new music over the year, and along with that Vanna hinted at them being the Vans Warped Tour for this year as well. Tour announcements were also made over the holidays and I will cover them all for your convenience all in this one article.
Whitechapel posted on Facebook on New Year's Day saying “ Thank you to anyone who supported us in 2015, without you what we do would not be possible. We look forward to bringing you album 6 in 2016. #whitechapel.” I know for a fact that their most recent album “Our Endless War” brought a lot of new fans in for the band along with the fact that they started to lose some as well. I feel Whitechapel will have a very good year, expect to see a headlining tour when they release album six. Carnifex also posted the same day saying that “ 2016; the year the world gets a new Carnifex record. 💀🔥💀” They have also posted a snippet of guitar audio from one of their newer songs which sounds quite different than the others, one fan commented and said “Sounds different. I scaaaared” and the band replied with a response “you should be, a lot of people are going to hate it” keep it tuned here for more information once it is released regarding the new sound for Carnifex. Fit For a King posted on Facebook “You know why 2016 is guaranteed to be better than 2015? Because we didn't put out a new album in 2015…” We can all hope that Fit For a King keeps their sound because it is one of the best metalcore sounds in the industry right now to some people.
You might be wondering why I didn’t mention Vanna in the previous paragraph, well that’s because they deserve a whole paragraph with the amount of information I have received. Vanna’s vocalist Davey Muise has been made it clear they have been working on a new album with his tweets, but not until December 27th at A Loss For Words final show in Worcester MA did we find out for sure. Davey stated something along the lines of “Vanna is working on a new album and it will be due out this summer” in between songs during their set, he then went on to say “We are doing a summer tour that is massive and it hits all 50 states and you can pick it up then” but what does that mean? Vans Warped Tour is the only tour that hits a ton of states over the summer and Vanna is no new timer to that tour. Vans Warped Tour lineup announcements start in March and you can find them on its website.
Sumerian Records has announced their 10th anniversary tour with bands such as Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After The Burial and Erra. ATB has announced their next album due out February 19th on Sumerian’s label, it will feature the last work from deceased guitarist Justin Lowe and will be called “Dig Deep.” The Word Alive has announced a headlining tour for early 2016 with Fit For a King, and Out Came The Wolves that will hit a ton of states in the US. Last but not least band I See Stars will be hitting the road with bands such as Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and Get Scared for early 2016 as well.
