Korn have had a few misses recently with their newer material, Path of Totality, and fixing some issues with The Paradigm Shift. Despite this, the band stills sits comfortably at the top of metal hierarchy, even if some call bullshit. With their strong start and helping shape nu metal, they deserve their place in the industry.
Today we get the announcement that Korn are releasing their 12th album, The Serenity Of Suffering. The announcement was expected with news that Corey Taylor of Slipknot was going to appear on the upcoming album, and a bootleg of the new song being uploaded to YouTube. The song that is shown in the bootleg being the new single, “Rotting In Vain.”
The single, to say the least, is promising. Feeling like it could have come out any time between Follow The Leader and Untouchables, is certainly start, but it's probably the darkest song in a long time. What no one was expecting, is the return of Jonathan Davis’ scatting, which is pretty good in the moment.
The album will be released October 21st, on Roadrunner Records. 1. Insane 2. Rotting In Vain 3. Black Is The Soul 4. The Hating 5. A Different World (feat. Corey Taylor) 6. Take Me 7. Everything Falls Apart 8. Die Yet Another Night 9. When You're Not There 10. Next In Line 11. Please Come For Me
